Armed with gloves and collection bags, the team was assigned to a section of the beach that they quickly set about cleaning up.
Willing participant and local sales specialist, Shane Wight, said the beach clean up was a fantastic project to be involved with.
"In our industry we often promote Four Mile Beach to our prospective tenants and property owners so it’s good to have the opportunity to pitch in and help keep it looking great," Shane said.
Luxury & Holiday Collection Manager, Annie Mitchell, said it was interesting to see first-hand the type of debris that had either washed up or simply been discarded.
"It was also good to see that the majority of the beach was litter free with most of the debris found around the high tide mark," she added.
At the conclusion of the collection all the debris was sorted, logged and either recycled or disposed of.
Tangaroa Blue Foundation is an Australia-wide not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the removal and prevention of marine debris. Four Mile Beach is one of Tangaroa Blues’ longest running Queensland beach monitoring sites, having been cleaned and logged each month since 2009.
