Community comes together to celebrate 100 years of education
Not even the threat of inclement weather could dampen the spirits of the team from LJ Hooker Port Douglas who joined the local Julatten community in celebrating 100 years of education at Julatten State School.
Under the shelter of two large marquees the team attracted droves of children and adults alike to their pasta jewellery making and sink the putt stalls that also featured packs of (very popular) LJ Hooker branded jellybeans.
The arrival of Hooker Bear had the kids running in from all directions, particularly as he too came bearing gifts of the jellybean kind.
Sporting the latest in pasta jewellery fashions, a lot of kids went home very happy indeed.
Event coordinator Annie Mitchell said it was great to join the community in their momentous celebration.
“The whole day was really well attended, and it definitely had that country fete feel to it with the petting zoo, pony rides, jumping castles, merry-go-round, face painter, magic fairy and the tasty treats served up by the CWA and RSL,” she added.
