The 12 days of Christmas took a fun turn across the Douglas shire in 2023, with the much loved Mr Hooker Bear taking to the streets to bring some Christmas cheer to the local community.
Promoted across social media, the 12 Days of Christmas saw Mr Hooker Bear and his ‘helpers’ provide the community with a range of free Christmas goodies that included coffees, baked treats, lollies, icy poles and ‘mystery’ presents.
Some of the participants that partnered with Mr Hooker Bear included Fresq Cafe, Mossman Bakery, Mockas Pies and Bakehouse, Beechwoods Milk Bar, With Sugar and Sparrow Cafe.
Whilst it got off to a flying start, the celebrations were unfortunately brought to an abrupt end with the arrival of Cyclone Jasper…but there’s always this year!
